Designed to meet the needs of the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq), the waste container developed by Generique Design offers a functional and contemporary approach to outdoor collection furniture. First deployed at Mont-Orford Park, these containers were designed to facilitate use by visitors and optimize maintenance operations.
Generique Design developed five models adapted for different types of materials: waste, recycling, deposit returns, ashes, and propane canisters. Made of powder-coated aluminum and stainless steel, the units feature a silhouette tilted forward by 5 degrees to improve ergonomics for both deposit and access. Each bin is equipped with a front door and concealed mechanism, allowing it to tilt outward for easy removal of heavy bags.
Self-adhesive vinyl labels ensure clear material identification, and for more sensitive sites, such as Opémican National Park, a bear-resistant system was integrated.
Through this project, Generique Design demonstrates its expertise in designing durable urban furniture adapted to the environmental and operational requirements of protected natural spaces.
