Peel Trail (Tsi niion kwarihò:ten – Our Ways) is a major public art installation located in the heart of downtown Montreal. Created by artists MC Snow and Kyra Revenko, the work honours First Nations in connection with archaeological discoveries made at the intersection of Peel and Sherbrooke streets. It unfolds as 11 stations, each consisting of two bronze spheres installed along Peel Street, stretching from the Lachine Canal
to Mount Royal.

Each station presents a dialogue between two perspectives on a theme drawn from the Kanien’kehá:ka Thanksgiving Address Words Before All Others—one expressed by an Indigenous artist, the other by a non-Indigenous artist.

Generique Design first conducted the project’s feasibility study, then took on the industrial and mechanical design, technical specifications, and supervised fabrication and installation. To accommodate the street’s varying slope, a custom asymmetrical base was developed, allowing each sphere to be levelled simply by rotating it during installation. One of the key challenges was to standardize as many components as possible without limiting the artistic freedom of the two creators—a delicate balance that the team maintained throughout the process, combining technical precision with sensitivity to the artistic gesture.
