Designed to enhance the augmented reality experience at the Canada Pavilion for Expo 2025 in Osaka, the interactive viewer is an ergonomic support developed to hold a digital tablet. This scenographic accessory allows visitors to "look through" the screen to discover a vibrant, creative, and forward-looking Canada.
Generique Design handled the design, prototyping, and fabrication supervision of 500 units. Made from a single piece of injection-moulded ABS with a foaming agent, the structure is lightweight (415 grams), robust, and hardware-free, optimizing durability, production costs, and on-site handling. An integrated clip system securely holds the tablet in place, while the angled handle provides an ergonomic grip to enhance the user experience.
The slightly textured finish, a result of the moulding process, subtly evokes the look of ice—a nod to the pavilion’s architectural concept, inspired by spring ice jams. This project reflects Generique Design’s custom approach, blending function, aesthetics, and large-scale production for international exhibition environments.
