Chasing Waterfalls is an audiovisual installation by Hidden Edges, a collective formed by multidisciplinary artists Myriam Bleau and Lucas Paris. The work takes the shape of a fluid, twisted structure supporting two flexible video screens, suspended in space like a waterfall frozen mid-motion. AI-generated animations simulate organic water flows that gradually break down into pixelated patterns—evoking the fragility and impermanence of digital data.
To support this unconventional form, Generique Design developed a lightweight, three-part modular structure, combining thin rolled components with riveted cross-bracing to maximize rigidity without compromising portability. All electronic components (power supply, video boxes) are discreetly integrated between the two faces of the piece, with custom suspension points designed for overhead mounting.
This intervention gave form to a complex artistic vision, blending post-digital aesthetics with refined technical assembly. Chasing Waterfalls received the 2024 Edigma Semibreve Award, recognizing its impact in the field of experimental digital art.
