Recurrent Rayuela 2.0 is the second iteration of a generative artwork inspired by Rayuela (Hopscotch), the novel by Julio Cortázar. Presented on a 700 mm black circular screen, the installation displays a cube composed of thousands of floating letters suspended in a fluid, animated pool. When a visitor manually rotates the screen, the cube spins, the letters scatter in turbulence, and fragments of the novel briefly emerge in motion. As soon as the rotation stops, the text fades and calm returns.
For this enhanced version, Generique Design developed a new custom wall-mounted pivoting support, tailored to accommodate a larger screen and more demanding integration requirements. The device combines aluminum, 3D-printed parts, and precision hardware, all designed with ultra-precise engineering. The structure completely conceals all electronic components, with no visible fasteners, while the ball-bearing pivot ensures smooth and silent movement.
Generique Design provided industrial and mechanical design, technology integration, and fabrication supervision—delivering a discreet and elegant solution that reflects the poetic complexity of the work.
